Distribution rights for Jun'ya Satô's Yamato: The Last Battle (Otoko-tachi no Yamato) - also known simply as "Yamato" - are being offered for sale by Toei Company Ltd. (Tôei K.K.) at this year's European Film Market (EFM) in Berlin, Germany. The movie is being screened at the CineStar on Saturday February 11th at 9:30 a.m. (09:30) and Wednesday February 15th at 9:30 a.m. (09:30). Toei released it theatrically in Japan on December 17th of last year.
The screenplay for Yamato: The Last Battle was written by (Jun'ya) Satô, based on Jun Henmi's non-fiction books Ketteiban otoko-tachi no Yamato (ue) and Ketteiban otoko-tachi no Yamato (shita). The movie was scored by Joe Hisaishi (Hisaishi Jô); the theme song for it, "Close Your Eyes", is by Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi.
