Jun'ya Satô's YAMATO (OTOKO-TACHI NO YAMATO): Tenth 'making of' short, and a cast update

A tenth 'making of' (mekingu) short has been added to the official website for Jun'ya Satô's Yamato (Otoko-tachi no Yamato).

As was previously reported on ScreenAnarchy, principal photography for Yamato began on March 26 in Hiroshima Prefecture's Mukaishima Town - which, two days later, merged with and into Onomichi City. The budget for the film reportedly is ¥1.5 billion (approx. $14 million U.S.).

Yamato is based on Jun Henmi's non-fiction books Ketteiban otoko-tachi no Yamato (ue) and Ketteiban otoko-tachi no Yamato (shita). Starring in it are Takashi Sorimachi, Shidô Nakamura, Ken'ichi Matsuyama, Dai Watanabe, Kenta Uchino, Hiromi Sakimoto, Ryô Hashizume (Hashidume Ryou), Kyôka Suzuki, Jundai Yamada (he's also in Su-jin Kim's Dreaming of Light (Garasu no tsukai)), Kazushige Nagashima, Yû Aoi (she was in Satoshi Miki's Kame wa igai to hayaku oyogu), Tetsuya Watari, Shinobu Terajima (she's also in Takashi Minamoto's The Great Blackout Coming (Daiteiden no yoru ni), and stars in Ryûichi Hiroki's It's Only Talk (Ittsu onrî tôku)), Kayoko Shiraishi (she was in Yoshihiro Nakamura's "Kowai hanashi, kikitai desu ka?", the introduction (intorodakushon) for the TV movie Dark Tales of Japan (Suiyô puremia: sekai saikyô J horâ SP Nihon no kowai yoru)), Eiji Okuda (he's in Rokurô Mochizuki's Nureta akai ito), and Tatsuya Nakadai.

Tôei K.K. is scheduled to release Yamato theatrically in Japan on December 17th.
