"For those who like their blood by the barrelful, 'Inside' is just the ticket. Awash in red liquid that drips, oozes, spurts and pours, pic restarts the French gore genre with an over-the-top sadism sure to please fans of schlock horror. Featuring a vengeful psychopath terrorizing a pregnant woman, Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo's helming debut relishes every chance to show sharp objects plunging into flesh." - Variety's Jay Weissberg

Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo's Inside (À l'intérieur) had its world première at the 46th International Critics' Week (46e Semaine Internationale de la Critique - "SIC" for short) in Cannes on May 24th. La Fabrique de Films is scheduled to release it theatrically in France on June 13th. Dreamachine (Celluloid Dreams and HanWay Films) is the international sales agent for it. Distribution rights for it for all English-speaking territories have been acquired by The Weinstein Company.

The screenplay for Inside was written by Bustillo. The movie stars Béatrice Dalle as the woman, Alysson Paradis as Sarah, Nathalie Roussel as Louise, François-Régis Marchasson as Jean-Pierre, Jean-Baptiste Tabourin as Matthieu, Dominique Frot as the nurse, Claude Lulé as the doctor, Hyam Zaytoun as the policewoman, Tahar Rahim as policeman #1, Emmanuel Guez as policeman #2, Ludovic Berthillot as crime investigator #1, Emmanuel Lanzi as crime investigator #2, Nicolas Duvauchelle as crime investigator #3 (Duvauchelle is also in Alain Corneau's The Second Wind (Le deuxième souffle)), and Aymen Saïdi as Abdel.

Here's a synopsis for Inside from the production: "Sarah, a young photographer, is by herself on Christmas eve. She's been alone since her husband died tragically in a car accident. Today is the last day she has to spend at home before going to hospital to induce labour. The calm is interrupted by a knock on the door. Confronted by a mysterious woman, Sarah is immediately suspicious, and refuses to let her in; however, the woman will not leave. Sarah suddenly feels afraid and calls the police. In the gloom outside, the woman watches her through the picture windows. Yet, when the police show up, the woman is gone. With riots raging in the neighbouring suburb, the distracted policemen comfort Sarah and leave. Sarah locks herself away in her house, unaware that the woman is now inside. As she feels her first contractions, she does all she can to fight back this madwoman hellbent on taking one thing...."
