Update on Michael Chuah's SEED OF DARKNESS

The new official website for Michael Chuah's Chinese-language (Cantonese and Mandarin) Malaysian horror movie Seed of Darkness - the working title of which was "Nephesh Seed" - went online yesterday, although at present it's just a home page. Also, there's a trailer for the movie on YouTube.

As was reported here on ScreenAnarchy back on May 21st, the screenplay for Seed of Darkness was written by Chuah. The movie apparently stars Sze-Zen Wong as Ying-Ying's mother, Alvin Wong as the neighbour, Vick Teo as Ying-Ying's uncle, Amber Chia as the psychiatrist, and nine-year-old Jiun-Jiun Leong as Ying-Ying.

Here's a synopsis for Seed of Darkness that was on the old official website for the movie: "[Seed of Darkness] weaves a spooky tale of the life of a single mother who decides to undergo an 'in vitro' process in Singapore to have a child of her own. [Y]ears later, she movies into a new apartment and her child begins to behave oddly, much to the bafflement of the young mother. Her fears begin [to] mount when she finds her child frequently talking to h[er]self in the presence of a shadowy figure, who has been appearing regularly in their new home."

Columbia Pictures is scheduled to release Seed of Darkness theatrically in Malaysia on December 28th. (BTW, Columbia Pictures is also the distributor of Dain Said's Dukun.)
