Director Choi Dong-hoon's previous film, The Big Swindle drew the inevitable comparisons to Tarantino that come with any youn gfilm maker attempting an ironic, dialogue driven crime caper these days but based on the trailers if you must make a western comparison for his latest, War of Flowers, the correct one would be Guy Ritchie. The pre-Madonna Ritchie, just to be clear. Not only does the card table set up smack of Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels but he's even gone and cast someone who's got the looks of a Korean Nick Moran in one of the leads.
