Fuck Coming in November

Sorry, it doesn't appear possible to write a headline for this piece that won't offend someone.

Steve Anderson's very fine and funny documentary Fuck had its World Premiere at AFI FEST last November. ThinkFilm acquired worldwide rights in March 2006 after it screened at South by Southwest (we wrote about that news here). And now it has a US release date: November 10, 2006.

Write that on your calendar any way you see fit. The ThinkFilm site indicates the film, which features "the f word" more than 800 times, has not yet been rated by the MPAA. Bill Plympton animated some sequences, which is reflected in the new poster.

The film's MySpace page features the trailer and many, er, interesting friends (I'm thinking I shouldn't be looking at some of their pictures in public places).

I haven't seen many documentaries this year, so I'm not sure how Fuck would stack up against other docs, but I'd love to see this nominated for an Academy Award, as much as anything just to see how the media would handle it...
