Just a few days back I posted links to the trailers for a trio of fantastic looking horror shorts by Brazilian film maker Carlos Gananian and wondered aloud what Gananian might be up to these days. Well, he was good enough to share and the news is fantastic ...

First, those who were impressed by the trailer for his vampire short Akai will be interested to know that the film is doing the festival circuit and is soon to screen at the Sao Paolo Film Festival. The big news, though, comes in the form of Gananian's next job ...

Seems the Brazilian wunderking has been hired to shoot behind the scenes video on the set of Encarnacao do Demonio, the new film by Jose Mojica Marins - best known around the world as Coffin Joe. There is no word whether Marins will be starring in this film or if he is solely present as director but, as Gananian points out this is Marins' first major project shot on 35 mm film in almost thirty years - his last directorial effort of any sort was in 1987 - and anything that brings a cult legend out of retirement is a good thing. The script for this film was penned by Dennison Ramalho (Love From Mother Only) and the film is scheduled to begin shooting in October.

More news as we get it ...
