The official website for Alex Infascelli's Hate 2 O - a.k.a. "H2Odio" (Italian title) - is online. (On that site, click on the photos along the top of the main page to view four videos.) Also, there's a teaser trailer for the movie on Elemedia S.p.A.'s KataWeb site.
Distribution rights for Hate 2 O are being offered for sale by Minerva Pictures Group s.r.l. at the Marché du Film in Cannes. The movie is being screened at the Gray 3 on Thursday May 18th at 9:15 a.m. (09:15), and at the Palais E on Thursday May 25th at 10:30 p.m. (22:30). 52 s.r.l., in association with Gruppo Editoriale L'Espresso S.p.A. (which, BTW, Elemedia is a subsidiary of), released it directly to newsstand-distributed DVD in Italy on May 3rd.
As was previously reported here and there on ScreenAnarchy, the screenplay for Hate 2 O was written by Infascelli and Vincent Villani. The movie stars Chiara Conti as Olivia, Mandala Tayde as Nicole, Anapola Mushkadiz as Ana, Olga Shuvalova as Christina, Claire Falconer as Summer, Carolina Crescentini as Olivia's mother, and Mauro Coruzzi as the psychiatrist. Sergio Stivaletti was responsible for its special effects.
Here's a synopsis for Hate 2 O from the page for the movie on Minerva Pictures' website: "Five girls travel to a remote mansion in the middle of nowhere for a purifying water fast. ¶ Seven days. ¶ No food, no electricity, no phones. With water as their only means of sustenance. Their days will tick away in a crescendo of mysterious happenings, until they come to believe they might not be entirely alone inside the gloomy cottage. ¶ Just as water gives life, it is water that will gruesomely take life away...."
Here's a synopsis for Hate 2 O from the Fangoria article "Evil in the water in Italy's HATE 2O" (November 30, 2005): "[Hate 2 O's] strange events begin when Olivia and her four friends hold a purifying water fast at her secluded cottage. Docile and introverted, Olivia is easy prey for her deceitful guests, who ridicule her and her long-lost twin - an unborn child 'absorbed' by Olivia during the childbirth that killed her mother. Tormented, Olivia ferociously removes the only palpable link she has with her dead twin - a tooth lodged beneath the skin of her shoulder. But discarding it down the drain only brings the horrific past to the surface. Just as water awakens this hidden life, it is water that will gruesomely take life away...."
