Lamberto Bava's THE TORTURER, w/ Elena Bouryka, Simone Corrente, Emilio De Marchi, Carla Cassola, El

The Torturer is one of Lamberto Bava's two upcoming horror movies - the other one being Ghost Son. Shot on digital video, it was produced by Dania Film S.r.l. (Italy), Due P.T. Cinematografica S.r.l. (Italy), Surf Film S.r.l. (Italy), and Castelao Producciones S.A. (Spain); Surf Film is the international sales agent for it.

The screenplay for The Torturer was written by Diego Cestino and Andrea Valentini in collaboration with Bava, based on a story by Dardano Sacchetti, Luciano Martino, and Michele Massimo Tarantini. The movie's cast apparently includes Elena Bouryka, Simone Corrente, Emilio De Marchi, Carla Cassola, Eleonora Sannibale, Valeria Cramerotti, Daniela Giorgini, Alissa Huzar, María Blanco-Fafián (a.k.a. María Blanco), Antonella Salvucci, Martina Micozzi, and Lisa Schuto.

Here's a synopsis for The Torturer provided by the production: "A dark and gloomy theatre set for strange castings. An awful and neglected villa. A stage writer who pushes young actresses to put themselves at risk in morbid auditions thick with physical pain and pleasure. Around the writer stir his ancient and sick mother, his agent/stepfather, the aspiring actors and a young actress with whom he falls in love. Who is the torturer who tears to pieces the bodies of the implausible actresses?"

Below are links to two downloadable video files - courtesy of Alfasoft - of Bouryka on the Rai Due mock talk show series Bla Bla Bla (13 episodes; April 11-July 4, 2005), which she was nominally the microphone girl (portatrice di microfono) on; the first file is comprised of a clip of her 'wardrobe malfunction' on the June 13th episode. There's also a link to a downloadable trailer for Sergio Stivaletti's The Three Faces of Terror (I tre volti del terrore) that's on the website of international sales agent American Cinema International (ACI); Bava played himself qua director (regista/se stesso) in the movie's "Dr. Lifting" story. (Note that the trailer for The Three Faces of Terror isn't the same as any of the three streaming ones that are on the official website for the movie.)
