I found this one sheet over at IONCINEMA and pretty much anything with George Clooney makes my ears perk [yes, he's that dreamy... erm... cough]. Clooney has been solid with his own projects and pursuits outside of acting alongside his partner in crime, Steven Soderbergh. One of his next projects, Good Night, And Good Luck, is due out in October and I find the premise of the film very intriguing. It is written and directed by Clooney, produced by Soderbergh, and hosts some interesting talent in front of the camera alongside Clooney [Jeff Daniels, Robert Downey Jr, Alex Bornstein and Frank Langella].

Here's the synopsis from the bare bones official site, "Good Night, And Good Luck." takes place during the early days of broadcast journalism in 1950's America. It chronicles the real-life conflict between television newsman Edward R. Murrow [David Strathairn] and Senator Joseph McCarthy and the House Un-American Activities Committee. With a desire to report the facts and enlighten the public, Murrow, and his dedicated staff - headed by his producer Fred Friendly [Clooney] and Joe Wershba in the CBS newsroom - defy corporate and sponsorship pressures to examine the lies and scaremongering tactics perpetrated by McCarthy during his communist 'witch-hunts'. A very public feud develops when the Senator responds by accusing the anchor of being a communist. In this climate of fear and reprisal, the CBS crew carries on and their tenacity will prove historic and monumental.

***UPDATE*** I've just been over to HollywoodReporter and have read that this film will open the New York Film Festival on Sept. 23.
