Carlos Reygadas' Battle in Heaven was one of the big buzz films at this year's Cannes Film Festival, drawing instant comparisons to Vincent Gallo's Brown Bunny for its graphic and unsimulated depiction of sex. But unlike Gallo's piece of exhibitionism the critics actually really like this one. Here's the official synopsis: "Marcos and his wife kidnap a baby for ransom money, but it goes tragically wrong when the infant dies. In another world is Ana, the daughter of the general he drives for, who prostitutes herself for pleasure. Marcos confesses his guilt to her in his troubled search for relief.
