Shim Eun-Ha Comeback a Possibility? 태왕사신기 (The King's Four Gods) Presentation

Some very exciting news from the presentation meeting for the new blockbuster Historical Drama 태왕사신기 (太王四神記, The King's Four Gods). The great Kim Jong-Hak - Korea's most famous Drama producer, the mind behind huge classics like 모래시계 (The Sandglass) and 여명의 눈동자 (Eyes of Dawn) - hinted at a possible return for Shim Eun-Ha, still one of the most beloved Korean actresses of the last 20 years. Shim left the business in 2000 after her last film 인터뷰 (Interview), and has avoided public attention since. Producer Kim said: "I helped Go Hyun-Jung come back, I also could do the same for Shim Eun-Ha. There's my will, and I know she wants to come back, all we need is the right role." Kim worked with Shim on the TV Drama 백야 3.98 (Sunny Midnights 3.98).

The 30 Billion Won Drama, starring Bae Yong-Joon, Choi Min-Soo and Jung Jin-Young, is written by Song Ji-Na, a frequent collaborator of Kim Jong-Hak's projects and perhaps the best Drama writer in the country. The show tells the story of King Gwanggaeto The Great, the 19th King of Goguryeo, responsible for one of the biggest periods of expansion in Korean history.
Kim commented about Bae's popularity in Japan as one of the major selling points of the Drama: "Honestly I knew Bae was really popular with Japanese people, but not to this extent. If you go to Japan, he's not a normal person, he's treated more like a God."
About the drama: "This will be Korea's own Lord of The Rings. We have a special set exclusively for this Drama in Gangwon Province, but we'll do several months of location hunting overseas to find spots that look perfect for the Goguryeo setting."

New Zealand's own WETA Design (of Lord of The Rings fame) will take care of the CGI and Miniature work, which will cost an estimate 10 Billion Won. The Drama will start shooting in September, to release in late 2006.
