Nighty Night. Series One R2 UK DVD September 12th 2005.

Another one of occassional UK comedy shows that's more than worth while pointing out. This was the sleeper hit of last year, a show which aired initially on BBC 3 and quickly got itself a solid fanbase. Then the show grew dramatically in popularity over its run and ended up being one of the most praised shows. And all this pretty much happened late on, as BBC 3 is a non-terrestrial channel that really needs to have a great show if so many are to be talking about it without the large majority having seen it.
The show has a deceptively simple premise : Jill, pretends husband is terminally ill. Signs up for dating agency, goes about attempting to seduce men. Watch the womans audacity. She is a nightmare. Very very funny though.
Written by Julia Davis, who you may know from Chris Morris' 'Jam', it took years to pen before Steve Coogans' company (Baby Cow) put the show together. Potentially this years 'The Office' or 'Little Britain' in terms of its crossover appeal for audiences outside the UK. Also features regular faces like Kevin Eldon (Brass Eye, Big Train) and Mark Gatiss (League of Gentlemen).
