New Kitano! And It's Not Zatoichi 2!

KitanoTakeshi.com - easily the best Takeshi Kitano resource online, and I'd say that even if the founder wasn't a regular reader here - has got the word on the next film from Japanese auteur Takeshi Kitano! Titled 'Takeshis' it is shooting now and they're aiming to wrap in August and speed through post quickly enough to premiere it in Venice, Toronto, or Pusan.

Ahem. Kitano. We like you here in Toronto. We really, really do. Come here.

Kitano will star in this one as well as direct and judging from the tag line - 500% Kitano - Nothing To Add! - I'd say he's going back to his comedy roots for the first time since getting any and it looks likely that he'll be appearing in multiple roles.
